Do not short circuit the battery. Sparks occur which can result in fire.2.3 DRIVING.
Start the engine according to the instructions in the user guide. Keep your feet away from theblades. Do not run the engine in confined areas wherehazardous carbon monoxide gases can collect. Only use the machine in daylight or where there is good lighting. Always use hearing protectors. Take care when approaching obstacles which obscure your vision.
Always keep children away from the machine’s working area. Get another adult to keep thechildren under supervision. Take care when reversing. Look behind you both before and during reversing to check forany obstacles. Look out for small children. Disengage the blade(s) and the connection before starting the engine.
Never have your hands or feet near or underrotating parts. Watch out for the blades.
Do notstand right in front of the discharge opening. Avoid using the machine on wet lawns. Be careful when driving on slopes. No sudden starting or stopping when moving up or down aslope. Release the clutch pedal slowly.
Always drivewith the gear engaged, and do not disengagewhen driving down slopes. Never cut across a slope. Move from the top down, and from the bottom to the top. Use low acceleration wh en engaging the drive,especially in long grass. Reduce the speed onslopes and when making sharp turns to preventthe machine from tipping over or you losingcontrol of the machine. Watch out for holes in the ground and other hidden dangers.
Do not drive too near d itches or high edges.The machine can turn over if a wheel drivesover the edge or the edge breaks. Take care when towing and when using heavy equipment.a. Only use an a pproved towing device.b.
Limit the load so that it can be controlledsafely.c. Do not make any sudden turns. Take carewhen reversing.d. Use wheel weights or front weight whenrecommended in the us er instructions. Look out for traffic at crossings or when driving near roads. Stop the blade(s) when crossing a surface other than grass during mowing. When using any of the ac cessories, never directthe discharge at somebody standing beside it,and do not allow anyone to stand near themachine when it is running.
Never operate the machine with insufficient protection or without the safety devices inplace. Existing safety devices may not be disconnected or disengaged. Check that thesafety devices work each time before using themachine. Do not alter the engine’s regulator setting and do not race the engine. The danger of personal injuryincreases when the engine is run at high revs. Do not touch engine co mponents which becomewarm during use. Risk of burn injuries.
Do not leave the driving seat without: a. Disengaging the power take-off and loweringthe accessories.b. Putting the gear in ne utral and activating theparking brake.c. Stopping the engine and removing the key. Only use accessories that are approved by the machine’s Manufacturer.
7ENGLISHENOriginal instructions for use. The machine may not be used without accessories/tools being installed in themachine’s tool mounts. Driving withoutaccessories can have a negative effect on thestability of the machine.
Take care when using grass collectors and other accessories. These can alter the machine’sstability.
Particularly on slopes. Disengage the drive to the accessories, shut off the engine and disconnect the spark plug cableor remove the starter key:a. To remove sticks and rubbish or when thedischarge has become clogged.b. To check, clean or service the machine.c. To check whether da mage has occurred andto carry out any repair s before starting andusing the machine again after a collision with aforeign object.d. To check the machine if it begins to vibrateexcessively.
(Check immediately). Disengage the drive to accessories during transport or when the machine is not in use. Shut off the engine and disconnect the drive to the accessories:a.
Before filling with petrol.b. Before removing the grass collector.c. Before adjusting the height setting, assumingthis cannot be done from the driver’s position. Reduce the acceleration when the engine is to be stopped, and if the engine is equipped with afuel shut-off valve, this should be switched offwhen the work is finished. Take care with multiple blade decks as one rotating blade can cause other blades to rotate. The machine, equipped with original accessories, must not be driven in any directionon slopes with a gradient greater than 10º.
The cutting deck’s origin al blade(s) may not bereplaced with non-original devices intended fore.g. Moss scarification.
If such devices are used,the guarantee will cease to be valid. There isalso a risk of serious injury or damage to peopleor property. Take care when unloading and loading the machine onto a trailer or lorry.2.4 MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE. Tighten all nuts and screws so that the machine is in safe working condition.
At regular intervals check that the cutting deck’s blade screw(s) are properly tightened. Regularly check the operation of the brakes. It is important to maintain and repair the brakes ifnecessary. Never store the machine with petrol in the tank in buildings where the fumes can come intocontact with open flames or sparks. Allow the engine to cool before placing themachine in a store.
To reduce the risk of fire, keep the engine, silencer, battery and petr ol tank free from grass,leaves and surplus oil. Check frequently whethe r there is any wear ordamage to the grass collector.
For the sake of safety, replace worn or damagedparts. Always use genuine spare parts.
Non-genuine spare parts can entail a risk of injury, even ifthey fit the machine. Replace damaged warn ing and instructionstickers. If there is no mechanical lock for the transport position, the cutting deck must be loweredwhen parked, stored or when the machine is leftunsupervised. If the petrol tank is to be emptied, this must take place outdoors. Store the machine so that children cannot get to it.2.5 STORAGEEmpty the petrol tank.
Start the engine and let itrun until it stops.Replace the oil while the engine is still warm.Unscrew the spark plug and pour a tablespoonfulof oil into the cylinder. Rotate the engine a fewturns to that the oil is distributed in the cylinder.Install the spark plug.Clean the entire machine. It is particularlyimportant to clean under the cutting deck.
Touchup paint damage to prevent rust.Store the machine indoors in a dry place.Machines with an electric starter:Remove the battery. Store it well charged in a coolplace (between 0°C and +15°C).At the correct storage temperature, the batteryshould be maintenance-charged every fourmonths.The battery acid is extremely corrosiveand can cause injuries and damage toskin and clothing.
Always use rubbergloves and glasses (goggles) to protectyour eyes. Avoid inhaling any acidvapour.Do not incline the battery too much sothat the battery acid can run out ontohands or clothing. Install the shoulder wash ers (2:F) on the screws(2:G).2. Insert the screws through the slots in the bracket. Place a washer (2:I) between the seatand the bracket.3.
Tighten the screws in the seat. Tightening torque: 9±1.7 Nm.If the screws are tightened more than9±1.7 Nm, the seat will be damaged.4. Check that the seat moves easily in the slots in the bracket.Install the mounting in the front (lower) holes asfollows:1. Install the screw knobs (2:H) on the screws (2:G).2. Install a washer (2:I) on each screw.3. Insert the screws through the slots in the bracket and tighten by hand in the seat.4. Fold the seat down and place it in the desired position.5.
Tighten the screw knobs (2:H) by hand.The screw knobs (2:H) and the seat willbe damaged if tools are used.The seat can be folded. If the machine is parkedoutside when it is raining, fold the seat forward toprotect the seat cushion from getting wet.The seat is locked.
To fold the seat up or down,release the catch (2:S).3.5 STEERING WHEELIn order to minimise the axial play in the steeringcolumn, the shim washers (4:K) and/or (4:L) mustbe installed on the steering column between thesteering column jacket and the bracket as follows.1. Install the steering column jacket on the steering column and secure by knocking in thecotter pin (4:K) approximately 1/3 of its length.2. From the outside, check whether no washers, the 0.5 mm washer, the 1.0 mm washer or bothwashers can be inserted into the gap.
Thewasher/washers must not be forced in, as theremust be a little axial play.4. Pull out the cotter pin and disMantle the steering wheel jacket.5. Install the washer/washers in accordance with point 3 above.6. Install the steering column jacket on the steering column and secure by knocking in thecotter pin fully. Use a counterhold.3.6 TOWING HITCHScrew the towing hitch (5:A) into the two holes onthe underside of the rear axle using screws 5:B).Tighten the screws properly.Tightening torque: 22 Nm.3.7 DECK MOUNTThis only describes installation on the right-handaxle.
The same procedure must be carried out onthe left-hand axle.1. Remove the circlip (15:M) and the outer washer (15:N).2. Install the deck mount (15:O).The washer (15:N) with an inner lugmust always be placed against thecirclip. Otherwise there is a risk of thecirclip coming loose.3. Install the outer washer (15:N) and the circlip (15:M).4.
Lubricate the deck mount’s lubricating cup using a grease gun until grease penetrates alongside the axle.The screws (1:P) and the nuts (1:Q) must be usedto install the work tool in the deck arms (15:O).3.8 TYRE PRESSURECheck the air pressure in the tyres. The parking brake is fully activatedbut not locked. This position is also used asemergency brake.4.4.3 Inhibitor, parking brake (6:N)The inhibitor locks the (6:M) pedal in thedepressed position. This function is usedto lock the machine on slopes, duringtransport, etc.The parking brake must always bereleased during operation.Locking:1.
Depress the pedal (6:M) fully.2. Move the inhibitor (6:N) up.3. Release the pedal (6:M).4. Release the inhibitor (6:N).Unlocking:Press and release the “clu tch-brake” (6:M) pedal. 10ENGLISHENOriginal instructions for use4.4.4 Driving-service brake (7:O)If the machine does not brake asexpected when the pedal is released, theleft pedal (6:M) shou ld be used as anemergency brake.The pedal determines the gearing ratio between theengine and the drive wheels (= the speed).
Whenthe pedal is released, the service brake is activated. Press the pedal forward –the machine moves forward.2. No load on the pedal – themachine is stationary.3.
Press the pedal backward –the machine reverses.4. Reduce the pressure on thepeda l – the machine brakes.4.4.5 Throttle/choke control (7:T)A control for setting the engine speed and to chokethe engine when starting from cold. If the engine runs unevenly there is arisk that the control is too far forwardso that the choke is activated. Thisdamages the engine, increases fuelconsumption and is harmful to theenvironment.1. Choke – for starting a cold engine. Thechoke is located in the top of the groove.Avoid operating the machine in thisposition, taking care to move the controlto full throttle (see below) when theengine is warm.Do not operate in this position when theengine is warm.2. Full throttle – when the machine is inoperation, full throttle should always beused.3.
4.4.6 Ignition lock (7:U)Ignition lock used for starting/stopping the engine.Do not leave the machine with the keyin position 2 or 3. There is a fire risk,fuel can run into the engine through thecarburettor, and there is a risk of thebattery being discharged and damaged.Four positions:1.
Stop position – the engine is short-circuited. The key can be removed.2/3. Operating position.4. Start position – the electric start motoris activated when the key is turned to thespring-loaded start position. Once theengine has started, le t the key return tooperating position 2/3.4.4.7 Gear lever (7:R)A lever for selecting one of the five forward gearsin the gearbox (1-2-3-4-5), neutral (N) or reverse(R).The clutch pedal must be kept pressed in whenchanging gear.NOTE!
You must make sure the machine is quitestationary before changing from reverse to forwardgear or vice versa. If a gear does not engageimmediately, release the clutch pedal and thenpress it in once again. En gage the gear once again.Never force a gear in.4.4.8 Power take-off (7:Q)The power take-off must never beengaged when the front-mountedimplement is in transport position. Thiswill destroy the be lt transmission.A lever for engaging and disengaging the powertake-off for operating the cutting deck.
